I worked at The Haartz Corporation as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good place to work with good people willing to train or show the newcomer how to do the work

    Cons

The company has a working schedule of 5 days a week and an overtime day on Saturday. but it seem like that overtime is forced on workers in some department and with penalties if you refuse to work that day

    Advice to Management

They have to realize that the are using people and machine. If machine needs rest to be maintained,it's the same with Human being. 5 days a week is enough as already each day people are working 12 Hours shifts.

I worked at The Haartz Corporation as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is nice and helpful and encouraging.

Good place to work if your new to manufacturings and want to learn and grow.

Always work to be done; You will get work 12 days all the time some other jobs give you hours and then take them back for they need to cut hours. Not at Haartz their is more work then hours in a day.

    Cons

Temps go in not knowing what they will be doing this can me very intimidating for anyone new to this kind of working environment.

Some jobs have to much down time you may want to bring a book. Sorry a real one no cell phone or personal electronics are allowed (they do have stereos around)

Other jobs have no down time at all 12 shift of go go go. Get some good insoles for steel toed work boots.

    Advice to Management

Ask temps what they can do or are comfortable with before assigning them to the department they are it ill-equipped for.

I worked at The Haartz Corporation full-time

    Pros

The owners and managers treat the employees with respect and legitimate concern. Despite being a mid-sized organization it still maintains the culture of a small business "family". Excellent benefits.

    Cons

The flip side to having a tight-nit organization is that some positions end up being filled by longer-term employees who might not necessarily be the best fit for the position. Haartz is no exception. That being said, I would consider this a minor nuisance rather than a major problem.

    Advice to Management

Just keep doing what you're doing. Your employees are your biggest asset, continue to take care of them and they will take care of you.

I have been working at The Haartz Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great place to learn with friendly people to work with. Family owned with workers that keep striving to be the best at what they do. Continuous improvement group couldn't have been more helpful in my transition here.

    Cons

The lack of space and construction is a little distracting while working, but that should be done with soon enough.

    Advice to Management

Great job building this from the ground up over the past century. With more machines being put in, the sky is the limit!
