I have been working at The Habitat Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I love working here because of the support I receive from my boss and co-workers. It really is a team environment. I have a flexible schedule, full benefits, and a good amount of time off.

    Cons

The pay isn't great. During the summer commissions help but during the slow season our annual salary is barely enough to live on.

I worked at The Habitat Company (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Job in the beginning, Great pay offer payment for certifications and licenses. Awesome staff. Has room for growth.

    Cons

No appreciation for the hard working employees on the ground level. No incentives given to staff. No bonuses poor resources, poor budget, poor example from the top down, Expectations are too high.

    Advice to Management

Start to appreciate your staff instead of just throwing demands. Understand that we are just human beings and WILL make a mistake and instead of dwelling on the negative acknowledge the positive as well. Start from the top and really reevaluate why they are in the field. Is it just to have a high paying job with an awesome title or is it to provide adequate affordable housing to individuals.

I worked at The Habitat Company (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved working for the company. Provided an opportunity to be creative with your style of management.

    Cons

I really don't have a con. Just a recommendation. I would definitely work for them again.

    Advice to Management

Recognize the talent of the property managers. Many of them work very hard and when their hard work goes unnoticed, it impacts their morale.

One's promotion within the company should be based on meritocracy and not how well someone is liked by others. There are people who work hard and go home. They deserve a shot at growth in the company, as well.

    Pros

Easy to work there and have a social life.

    Cons

Management can and WILL turn against you. Keep everything in writing. Always have proof. I found out management was slandering me after I left.

    Advice to Management

The management here needs a course in integrity.

I have been working at The Habitat Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing worker bees. 401k match. Great accounting staff. 9-5 are good hours.

    Cons

No bonus structure. Dictatorship. The executive team rarely gives out bonuses but get HEAFTY bonuses themselves. More for them. Pays much lower salaries than most companies. Executive team over property management have discriminatory practices for hiring. Mostly blondes get promoted in market rate. Minorities tend to get overlooked unless being placed in an affordable building. They do not post open positions to give others the chance to apply. The favorite blondes who have less than 3 years experience get the better buildings to manage. Raises never exceed 3%. Feels like high school and is uncomfortable environment because an admin watches everyone's move and reports it to the executive.

    Advice to Management

Should take a look at the person who created the recent mass exodus of good people. Ensure that those in upper management practice the core values. Bring back a fair bonus structure. Pay competitive salaries. Be more transparent with the goals and what's going on with the company.
