    Positive Outlook

I have been working at The Hamilton Spectator full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The Spectator is the most respected news source in Hamilton and is part of a much larger corporation, Torstar. Excellent employees, lots of training available, and also lots of opportunity for advancement.

    Cons

There is a high stress level due to constant deadlines, sales targets, and dealing with an increasing workload due to cutbacks and a depressed economy.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at The Hamilton Spectator full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Camaraderie; location; reputation; awesome cafeteria; community interest - community and staff initiatives; pay and benefits. Overall a good place to work, some very long service employees.

    Cons

Old offices; mostly good managers, but could use more management skills; long service employees and fairly flat management structure make career advancement within the company difficult.
