I have been working at The Hanover Company full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They offer free housing if you are at a lease up. Ability to recruit top talent with nice buildings

    Cons

    Where do I start?
Lowest pay in the industry and when you try to show them facts and numbers for your market they tell you to take the offer or someone else will.
It's a big click and if your regional feels at all that you could take their job or run circles around them then they are intimidated.
They have "Hanover" people that they say knows everything. In reality they have people that hold onto others coat tails to get what they want.
Last but not least if you go to anyone with a problem including top management. They could care less.

    Advice to Management

Praise your top talent more and allow transparency at all levels.
Just because someone says one thing and does another does not make them a good employee.
Stop focusing so much on your product and obtaining top talent unless you are going to pay them like top talent.

    Pros

Industry leader of innovation and corporate culture. Best of class employees, projects, and teams with a remarkable spirit of collaboration throughout the enterprise. Admirable corporate governance with approachable leaders in all divisions. Respected reputation by investment partners, lending institutions, and consultants.

    Excellent benefits and competitive compensation.

    Cons

I have heard personal concerns in departments other than the one that I worked in, but did not experience any first hand. Would be better if they promoted more within the company.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing forward with innovation and culture. Seek feedback from internal teams to maintain corporate culture. Seek to mentor growth internally.

I have been working at The Hanover Company (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to work side by side with some of the most talented people in the residential construction industry. Opportunity for advancement is frequent.

    Cons

Relocation may be required which is common in the construction industry. If interested in staying in one area for an extended period of time 6+ years it may prove to be difficult.

I have been working at The Hanover Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Progressive company. Fantastic support system. Managers cheer on and empower their employees. Benefits are great. The leasing incentive program is the best out of the multi-family industry. Hanover also has fantastic Regional Supervisors but the Houston sites have the best one!

    Cons

Lots of movement. Not really a 'con' but sometimes the thought of moving to a different city can be scary.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing!
