I have been working at The Hartford full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible work hours for appointments. Great starting PTO balance.

    Cons

Terrible medical benefits package. Unkept promises, almost never keeping their word. Constant changes in the management team which cause confusion for staff. Communication issues between management. Staff are never recognized for their hard work and over time. Salary is low for the expected work completed and extra projects.

    Advice to Management

Recognize your staff and the turn over rate will decrease. Stick with a plan for more than a month to review if it is working. Compensate your employees well and they won't look for other options.

I have been working at The Hartford full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I have worked for The Hartford for almost eighteen years and despite a flurry of constant change characteristic of American business culture, one constant has remained; The Hartford has always endeavored to be a good and honorable employer. The company's nine year recognition as one of The World's Most Ethical Companies not only applies to its behavior and reputation in the marketplace, but also to internal culture as an employer.
Indeed no employer is perfect, but I have witnessed Hartford leadership at all levels take tangible action on annual employee survey results to address gaps where they occur.
In addition to reaping the benefits of several career development opportunities throughout my tenure, I have also improved my health and well being through several wellness program offerings.
Career growth and personal growth, surrounded by an ethical culture. The Hartford delivers on promises to customers and employees alike.

    Cons

There is no significant "down-side" to being an employee of The Hartford.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and forward momentum. You have a 207 year-old legacy to protect and pay forward.

I worked at The Hartford full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good salary and ability to work from home.

    Cons

The work load is absolutely ridiculous. I worked all the time and could not keep up - I am not slow. I was told I was the #2 case manager, but I could still NEVER keep up with my caseload. The supervisors try to help, but can't stop giving new cases. My family completely suffered. If you are single and don't mind working 12-14 hours per day, 7 days per week then this job will be a blessing.

    Advice to Management

Hire more case managers to keep up with work load and promote work/life balance!
