I worked at The Headfirst Companies full-time

    Pros

Fun to work with the kids
I enjoyed the people I worked with

    Cons

    -Management is awful
-Pay is heinous - they use a labor loophole to exploit a below minimum wage rate for their summer workers

    Advice to Management

    1. Pay your people more - I know how much each kid pays...
    2. Reduce oversight; you don't need an army of lawyers to micromanage summer camp workers...

I have been working at The Headfirst Companies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The office culture at Headfirst is fantastic - I genuinely care for everyone that I work with, and that translates into our work. It's comforting knowing everyone around you is putting in their best work. The office is very relaxed, with jokes flying, good music playing, and snacks abound.
The experience is extremely valuable - because it's a small company, you can hit the ground running with more responsibility and ownership than most entry-level workers will ever see. You're able to rise quickly and show your worth right away.
Brendan, the CEO, is one of the best people I've ever known. He will inspire you every day to do your absolute best.

    Cons

The hours can be tough - the nature of the work tends to require more of a time commitment than your average office job. The pay is not great relative to other similar industries.

    Advice to Management

Focus less on the negatives - it can be disheartening when the only thing that's ever talked about is what was done wrong.

I have been working at The Headfirst Companies full-time

    Pros

The people who work at Headfirst make it what it is. It is a talented, driven, young staff of incredibly impressive people. The people are far and away the best part about the job. It is fun going to work each and every day.

    Cons

Hours can be long in and around the summer (to be expected at a summer camps organization)

The hours can get a little intense in the summer

I worked at The Headfirst Companies part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Always looking for ways to improve operations.

    Cons

Some rules seem strict and unnecessary.

    Advice to Management

Provide more support/guidance to regional camps.

    Pros

Very fun and interactive job. Very rewarding and yuh have the chance to work under some very passionate individuals.

    Cons

Pay is not reflected for the amount of time and effort that is given from the employees. They do not allow you to challenge kids and punish them for misbehaving

    Advice to Management

Things should be ran a little more smoothly. From a camper/parent perspective things look amazing. From a worker stampoinr, things need to be a little more in tact.

I worked at The Headfirst Companies part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunity to network. If you show a lot of enthusiasm at camp and a willingness to learn, you will be recognized and.

    Cons

    - Inform potential employees during the interview process about the rigors of travel when working with the MLB camps.
    - Have realistic timelines when working at the camps. The schedules and curriculum are great but the time allotted for each task is not enough when working with kids.

I worked at The Headfirst Companies part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working with kids is something that you get to do a lot. However, they hire by the week. If you are just looking for a part time summer job, I do not recommend it

    Cons

They hire by the week. If you are just looking for a part time summer job, I do not recommend it. They over-hire on purpose. So, if they need 15 counselors, they will hire 30 for the summer and only allow half of you to work. Then, they keep the counselors that "fit" their ideal counselor. So, if you need to make money during the summer I would not recommend Headfirst because it is not guaranteed they will even use you at all if you are hired.

    Advice to Management

Be more straight up with the counselors that you hire and do not simply treat them as meat.
