I have been working at The Hershey Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great pay and benefits. Also great town for families with lots to see and do. Food could be better in and around town!

    Cons

Little work/life balance at times. Leadership can sometimes lose sight of their connection with their reports. Focus on results, not where the work is being done.

I have been working at The Hershey Company full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Long legacy started by Milton Hershey. Every candy bar you buy helps support the Milton Hershey School for disadvantaged children. Brand name resonates on a resume.

    Cons

Over the years, Hershey had grown very top heavy. Minimal pro motions within, tendency is to hire from he outside vs train/groom current employees. This can lead to constant disruptive working conditions as newcomers aren't properly trained in the Hershey culture, vision, and history. It's a shame to watch a company you believed in turn into a revolving door with disconnected leadership. When a company is more concerned with profits (stemming from sales and Headcount reductions) over people (like employees and customers), and pleasing Wall Street Analysts, they tend to lose sight of why they are here in the first place. Execuatives are woe fully out of touch with how things are done, by whom, and why. They rely on outside contractors to help them understand how the company works. I believe there's a lot of mis-management at the very top by those here for a paycheck and not the legacy we stood for.

I worked at The Hershey Company full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great brand name and recognition. Everyone knows Hershey and everyone knows it is a great product and you dont have to do the gorilla marketing to open the eyes of the customer

    Cons

They tend to be Stuck in their ways and not open to new ideas. They are very old school with the top people making decisions even when others have more knowledge or experience in the area

I have been working at The Hershey Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The product can be good although they give stale product to employees. I can’t think of anything else that’s good.

    Cons

Canadian Leadership team’s main focus is looking out for themselves. If you work here long enough, your parting gift is a hand shake and a knife in the back. Terrible If you don’t have at least two directors on your side at all times, you are cooked. Very very very political. Nothing else really happens besides setting the pecking order.
