Pros
- Globally known name with a solid company reputation- great resume builder for any career and fun to tell people that you work for Hershey - Adequate pay for what you are doing, fantastic benefits, company car for personal use as well - Hires recent graduates with little sales experience, so great entry-level opportunity for anyone - Promotion opportunities - Upbeat team culture (if that is something you're in to) - Independence/constantly on your feet (if that is something you're in to) - Opportunities to be creative - Interaction with multiple levels of the company and Opportunities for even the VP to see the work you do in stores
Cons
- Long hours (9 to sometimes 12 hour days if you factor in the drives between stores) - Very physically intense job with little to no office or down time: heavy lifting cases of candy, digging thru pallets in chaotic Walmart backrooms, trying to drag pallets and displays of candy around customers without hitting anyone - Dealing with unfriendly and demanding store management (mainly from the Walmart account) who may tell you what your job is rather than respecting you and allowing you to follow the specific priorities that Hershey delegates to you - Relocation all over the country in order to move up, combined with long hours especially during seasons (Halloween/Christmas/Val Day/Easter) makes this job a tough work/life balance - Battling for space and fighting the competitors on the sales floor during seasons - Some reviews will talk this job up, some will tear it down. At the end of the day, you need to evaluate what exactly you want in a career. Some people love this role, others do not. You're in Walmarts and other grocery stores during the day, trying to find great space on the sales floor to display Hershey product. You need to be an outgoing personality type who is comfortable being on your own all day and not afraid to be assertive and fight for space. You also need to be able to power thru with positivity even if you had a rough day with several negative interactions. This role is inherently confrontational, which some people may not like.

Pros
Great people that are very committed to the company. The brands are powerful and senior management is very forward thinking.
Cons
The culture is overly bureaucratic and requires a consensus to make decisions. Part of this is a good thing but the problem is everyone is always in meetings which slows down the decision making process as well as prevents work from getting done.

Pros
There are several great people who work at Hershey - but be careful who you can trust. Competitive pay. I don't 'hate' working at Hershey, but I definitely would not recommend a friend to work here.
Cons
Hershey does not treat their employees well. Very much an "up or out" mentality with a forced ranking. When the company has not been doing well in meeting company goals and metrics - you will see lower level management blamed and people are often forced out. The Hershey culture is nice and personable to your face, but managers and employees talk about others behind their backs. I have been in meetings where it is very evident that people are being talked about poorly. The retail team fosters an environment of "throwing others under the bus" and they are asked to identify the worst person that they work with. Hershey likes to keep up the appearance that they have great values and support families and "deliver smiles" - but the corporate culture does not promote work life balance. I have spoken with many collegues at Hershey who say they are depressed, work until midnight on a daily basis, and are unhappy with their work situation. Management often says one thing and then contradicts their direct within a few months. The upper level managers have not set clear direction for the company.

Pros
Great people to work with who are wiling to help Uplifting environment for women in the workplace. A great example of having more females in management roles!
Cons
Avoid commercialization projects. Cross-functional = all 35-40 hours used to attend meetings, make calls, and write emails. You will work hours beyond 35-40.

Pros
This job (and company) gives you back what you put into it. If you work hard you will be recognized and have the potential to promote. Great benefits like a company car and great pay to reward you for your efforts. Great company that is growing continuously and recruits good hearted people.
Cons
You are a literal workhorse - 60+ hour weeks, admin work at home, driving 5+ hours a day, merchandising aka lifting 50 lb boxes and pulling 500 lb pallets at Walmart. Only way to promote is to move (usually states away) If you promote the work life balance will only get worse
