    Pros

Corporation is fantastic, very veteran and military friendly. Organization supports self-growth and career growth by offering tuition reimbursement, job training. Very time lenient for students.

    Cons

Alexandria stores specifically operate very poorly compared to other parts of the country. Management in the region is set in their ways, which do not follow corporate policy more often than not.

    Advice to Management

follow SOP to a T. Management is afraid to discipline poor performance and lack of integrity due to possible accusations and consequences.

I worked at The Home Depot part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Most employees want to help each other and customers. Lots of freedom to work in area you want and to help out customers quickly or to spend quality time with them problem solving DYI projects.

    Cons

Managers are overworked and have to spend too much time dealing with issues, rather than planning and managing. Very little direction or planning is given by managers. Inventory system non-existent between the receiving dock and the sales shelves, meaning associates spend lots of time craning necks wandering around aisles looking overhead in hopes of finding items not on sales shelves. Phone call customer service is a nightmare because there is no store-based system for locations and inventory.

    Advice to Management

Plan out your associates' shifts. Spend time walking around with associates helping them build knowledge and skills. Get an interim inventory system in place.
