I worked at The Home Depot part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

We did a lot of things for the community. The coworkers are friendly. They awarded the employees frequently.

    Cons

Management shows a lot of favoritism. Doesn't work with schedules very much. No room to advance unless you've been an employee there your entire life.

    Advice to Management

Management should show more support towards the employees.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I really enjoy the people I work with. Very few personality conflicts

    Cons

Large corporate one size fits all rules

    Advice to Management

Get some real benefits for your employees. The pay rate for hourly employees is very low and it would be nice to have at least some type of real benefits to let them know they are valued as employees

    Pros

Home Depot is customer driven and making changes on a regular basis. They are competing with Lowes and have many loyal customers. The employees are like a family. The benefits are good.

    Cons

The job gets kind of boring. It's not easy for everyone to get a promotion. Becoming a manager is hard.

    Advice to Management

The managers get really stressed when it's "walk" time, but they're fair. They always have an open door policy. Sometimes play favorites.
