    Pros

Team atmosphere with a challenging approach to shrink mitigation. Reasonable pay, with the opportunity to bonus twice a year. Ability to create your own schedule.

    Cons

Role for an asset protection manager has been reduced drastically which makes the position scarce. The theft culture is ever evolving and the demographics for the areas covered with asset protection managers bring many challenges attempting to reduce theft impact.

    Pros

    Good exposure to different processes

    Cons

Not a company you can believe in to take care of it's people. Upper management hides behind their so-called "Value Wheel" and do not support their people.

    Advice to Management

    Don't be a hypocrite. Do what's right

I worked at The Home Depot (More than a year)

    Pros

Company is awesome! Treats associates great! Competitive Pay!

    Cons

Asset Protection is not employee friendly. They are always trying to find something you are doing wrong and instead of coaching and training they go behind peoples back and try to get you fired. With many years in the retail business I have never seen such a black and white entity in a retail (GRAY) world. The drive for numbers in the AP side including internals makes everyone a target!

    Advice to Management

Management is great! AP needs to have a more employee friendly look at the treatment of their associates. Field management is out of touch with corporate values. Field management not store, dose what they want. I would rate them a 5 but since you will be afraid if anyone is trying to fire you I give the company a 2

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

All of the hourly employees were great partners in the business. Company has great processes in place to make your job easy to complete and your goals achievable.

    Cons

Absolutely no work life balance. The demands on managers to work overtime without additional compensation borders on the illegal. They offer bonuses for managers, but it is just enough to cover the 780 hours of time and a half you are required to put in. You can forget about the double time. The company always falls back on blaming the frontline manager with the lines, "You're not managing your time" or "You're not prioritizing your work load".

  10. "Good work Experience, vindictive upper management that only care about getting a bonus and will toss you under the bus"

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Stay very busy, sometimes not very productive with the work.

    Cons

Deal with putting out fires all of the time. The DOM's and DM usually not on the same page. If you are not liked or fit their ideal person they will get rid of you or you will be stuck in the same position for ever.

    Advice to Management

    Practice what you preach.
