I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The training they have is good if you are already pretty familiar with the material. I enjoy helping people figure out how to accomplish their project and find the right tools and parts.

    Cons

Because the pay is barely above minimum wage and part timers don’t get any medical benefits or even an employee discount, there is a lot of turn over. Disappointing that they don’t value employees that have industry knowledge and have a passion for customer service. I love my work there, but get paid less than my son does bagging groceries.

    Advice to Management

Clean house. If a department supervisor is rude to customers and their employees they should find another job. They should be leading the moral of the team and demonstrating exceptional customer service.
