I worked at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They will tell new hires that the company is like a big family, that they care about their people.......

    Cons

The employee relations policies are pretty far out! They treat their employees like garbage and then their employee relations person (a real peach) Delvecchio will try to justify these policies and "I'm sorry if you don't like it!"
Unreal. Greedy lying nasty company. Watch your back if you work here, don't apply here if you're thinking about it.

    Advice to Management

Rethink your leave of absence policy for employees who are charged with a crime they didn't commit. It's a ridiculous policy to protect yourself but sells the employee down the river. It's hard to swallow when you've told the employee you care about them and its like a big family here. Word will get out how underhanded you are.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Okay pay and a variety of things and positions to do

    Cons

Leadership is really bad. Managers, asm, supervisors are for the most part lazy and not really into getting the job done well or at all. In addition they treat employees poorly as well. Had many really good hard workers quit because leadership was to lazy to help them. For the most part its one lead complanes at another than it tickles down the line to regular people.

    Advice to Management

Stop being elitist. Home depot pays almost minimum wage and people dont need your complaining that its never good enough.
