I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My particular store was like a family. We worked together well even if our plate was full. Pretty good benefits too.

    Cons

Pay is not equal to the work that the company expects you to do. Perfect for high school or college kids or single people with no bills unless you are the store manager, or assistant manager.

    Advice to Management

They have yearly meetings where you anonymously give your input to what changes the company needs to make, but nothing really changes, especially when it comes to a pay raise.

I have been working at The Home Depot (More than a year)

    Pros

I work with a great group of people on the floor level. Little chance of getting fired as long as you show up on time.

    Cons

Low wages, no interaction with store manager or above, No overtime. They take customer service to a ridiculous point. Don't back up the employees. Write you up for every little issue. Management not in touch with whats needed on the sales floor or don't care.

    Advice to Management

The stores need coverage on the sales floor. It's not fair to expect one guy to cover several departments. Management has never asked me for an opinion. When a few of us made some suggestions in writing including data to back it up, we didn't even get a response or acknowledgement for the effort. Very poor management.
