I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

More than sufficient training to perform your job, even with no previous knowledge. (Most) of my coworkers are a lot of fun to work with, and are just the salt of the earth.

    Cons

Hours lacking, hard to get 30/week. For some reason the customers tend to be a bit less friendly here.

    Advice to Management

Please give stable hours! It's getting very difficult to pay the bills...

I have been working at The Home Depot (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    -Holidays and Weekend off
-5 AM to 130 PM shift
    -Good benefits

    Cons

-Breathing all the crap in the air
    -Monotonous work
    -Low employee appreciation
    -low pay

    Advice to Management

The Manager needs to actually show up and check the work of their employees. They only care about the amount of work "done" by just checking the numbers that can be influenced easily by workers.

    Pros

Received decent pay, enjoyable work environment, helping customers, took job related courses to improve product knowledge, satisfactory standard working hours.

    Cons

Sometimes had to work on days designated not for work, had to request days off 3 weeks in advance, day-off requests sometimes not granted, even if turned in earlier than minimum, pressuring managers.

    Advice to Management

Managers and supervisors need to connect with employees and talk on their level to show that they are not just for making numbers but to encourage everyone to make the company successful as a whole for everyone's benefit.
