I worked at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay in relation to other retailers.
Great benefits: store sales goal bonuses, tuition reimbursement, employee support (hurricane damage and other incidents)

    Cons

Some people in supervisor roles had the "do as I say, not as I do" mentality.
No employee discount ( not a huge con, but worth mentioning).
Entitled and complacent people of seniority!

    Advice to Management

    1. Remember you are a role model.
    2. Don't be afraid to fire senior employees that are not outputting.

I worked at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Best co-workers, fantastic team work and flexible schedule

    Cons

Poor pay, few PPEs , reduce work hours randomly , keep changing schedules, worst benefits, back breaking work, some customers nasty and weird.

    Advice to Management

Follow the CA state guide lines of offering more hours to part-timers before hiring new workers. Stop being cheap and buy safety shoes and reflector jackets for workers. Listen to the worker's gripes.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    *Flexible schedule
*No restrictive uniform- it's an apron!

    Cons

    *Very meager sick days
*Enough tardies will result in dismissal
    *Unpleasant working conditions- no a/c
    *Power-hungry bosses

    Advice to Management

Under no circumstances should a front end supervisor or head cashier tell a subordinate that cashiers and loaders 'don't need water' outside, or that they don't need a fan or heater.
