I worked at The Home Depot full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

work with good people and learn a lot. You can move up quickly if you work hard and follow all the rules.

    Cons

under staffed, can be very stressful. I started ten years ago when the starting pay was ok, now they don't pay much and the hours are crazy, even for retail. Now they mostly hire only part time that offers very little in the way of benifits

I worked at The Home Depot part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Pay is decent, most of the other employees are friendly, and some customers are nice, training is ridiculously easy and in most cases unsupervised computer time.

    Cons

Management at the store level has no idea what it is doing and is rarely ever whey they are supposed to be, schedules are erratic (at best), hours are constantly cut, I was scheduled opposite hours from my trainer for 2 weeks straight and worked my department by myself after my 1st day on the floor with my trainer.

    Advice to Management

reign in your store management, ensure employees are receiving the training they are supposed to receive.
