I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company, HR experience, local discounts and overall a great team environment among same-level associates.

    Cons

Micromanagement, Upper management is disconnected from team, no work/life balance, no clear direction and the title of "Manager" is only used to describe you when you're being reprimanded.

    Advice to Management

Listen to floor managers and stop making excuses. Realize the high turnover in the department and make steps to stop the bleeding versus hiring other "managers" who will eventually leave due to lack of support and feeling oppressed.

If you create a system to objectively decide HR issues then it should be applied uniformly.
