I worked at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    bonus every 6 months
    making some good friends

    Cons

BAD Management, only care about them selves
Calls you on your day off to come in ALL the time
    No discounts

    Advice to Management

Get actual good managers who care about the workers and will fight for them instead of just firing them for NO reason what so ever. There is this one manager who only cares about making herself looking good no matter the cost so she can get her own store. Changing/Firing managers every 6 months is bad for the employers and the store .

    Pros

Maybe Homer Fund if your associates, supervisors, and management give a damn about you and the E Training if you can actually be allowed to be on the clock and learn more about the business.

    Cons

Management style is terrible they exhibit hardly no leadership skills. Like to mostly always accuse associates of doing wrong, spying on you to see if your working and terrible communication, organization. Makes for a very apathetic workplace in getting teamwork. Forget about getting any coaching if you need more hands on. Store Management only cares about numbers and pushing to make bigger success sharing bonuses. about their own skin. Try asking for help to develop your career and they just blow you off. Working as a veteran little to no respect all they do is help veterans who need homes for PR purposes. Pay get excited that you can make less than what McDonald's pays, rewards program joke and pathetic. Get excited that 70% of the store is part time and so wishful thinking that you can see a full time opportunity become available. Top performers wow a quarter to 50 cents thanks

    Advice to Management

Show that you care about the well being of your associates. Be approachable empower associates to give feedback. I have never been asked. Take a little time and ask about their background or life. Respect people with disabilities instead of treating them like lesser. Actually, put associates in departments that they can enjoy. At my store scheduling is bad to consistently get the hours promised. Try having some integrity too in what you promise to associates. Saying hi how are you and an occasional thank you doesn't cut it as being sincere and appreciative.
