I worked at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Success sharing. Can have fun at work. Can have good and enjoyable talks with customers. Plenty of opportunities to grow some. Can be pretty flexible with schedules.

    Cons

Schedules can be made a month and a half in advance which can be hard to work around if no one can cover your shift. Management can be very lazy. Often times you’re left alone on the floor if you are a sales associate. Work load can be dumped on you if they see that you actually work. They will move you around where they need you. Even if it isn’t your official job title.

    Advice to Management

Lead by example. Your employees will notice and be more motivated.

I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They train you on everything so you can feel confident helping customers, so no prior construction knowledge is needed. As long as you are willing to help people and sweat sometimes, you’ll do great. Management listens to you and plan little things throughout the month to give back to associates like cookouts, snacks, and events. They offer great benefits like dental and health. They are willing to work with your schedule especially if you are a student or parent. The people who work there are like a diverse family.

    Cons

You get messy sometimes and you have to be very careful when lifting to avoid injury. Usually there are plenty of willing associates around to help out. There is also a lot of safety training and reminders from management because they care about your wellbeing.

    Advice to Management

Always remember to notice the hard workers and let them know you think they’re doing a good job.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good co workers most of the time, benefits, full time reg shift.

    Cons

Everything else, corporate greed, favoritism, give 110 %. Mistake. Expected even when others give 30%. U slack to 95% gets noticed while 30 % get more recognition. Lies about promotions string along. Talks about great customer service but never enough staff to be possible.

    Advice to Management

Recognize hard work, stop favoritism, staff approipietly, promote due to knowledge, experience, and work ethic not to fill racial, or gender quotas. On and on. Lots of drama.
