I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A growing company that embraces omnichannel while making a positive store experience for associates and customers. A good place to develop a career and move forward.

    Cons

There aren't many cons. The concern most often raised is about the flexible schedule which is a reality in retail and not something that is changeable.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest management keep upholding the core values of the company. They will only lead to greatness in the future.

    Pros

If you are a hard worker and a logical thinker, the sky is the limit. Once management notices a potential leader, they will take you under their wing and help you grow. Advancement can happen quickly and they promote from within the company.

    Cons

I personally have none but if you do not want to work retail hours, The Home Depot is not for you.

    Advice to Management

The new labor model is working well. Thank you for the change, it is helping with customer service and will help the business grow.

I worked at The Home Depot (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, ESPP, 401k, fast-paced environment

    Cons

Often have associates they are "grooming" to take over a position but they say positions and advancement are open to all, revolving door hiring policy - once a manager was fed up with an employee, rather than following accountability procedures, they would often just want to fire the employee because there were another x amount of people who were waiting to get their first job.

    Advice to Management

Focus more energy on your employees and their growth instead of just doing what is most convenient for your departments
