    Advice to Management

stop complaining about no work getting done all you do is look and never lend a hand. you wanted me to give up my career for this dumb company. also the pay? ridiculous for the amount of work i do. i was in lumber and i work so hard when i was 19 lifting concrete and driving reach and everything. contractors and laborers make more than me . home depot was the worst job i ever had. when i started everything was fine than they started changing managers and everything sucked. i came in late on purpose cause i didnt want to be at home depot,

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Free food occasionally.

    Success sharing.

    Holiday parties.

    Holiday pay.

    Cons

Very low pay - $8.25 starting is insane for an overnight position.

Unfair pay - someone could be doing the same job as you and getting $2.00+ more per hour.

No more health insurance for part-time associates.

    Virtually no full time employment.

    Advice to Management

Don't be so cheap. You're a big company, you can handle it. Give hard working associates a better wage or least one to make the job worthwhile.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You can get a job if you are bilingual part time or temporary worker that pays a little more than minimum wage. Wide range of jobs available with constant turn over.

    Cons

The company used to value hard working knowledgeable full time employees and hired on experience and skill. the company now hires only the cheapest bilingual employees they can find and knowledge doesn't matter. They think a few minutes of general knowledge computer classes will give great customer service. The company is only concerned with making huge profits. There used to be a way to get decent full time jobs but now the only options left in the workforce will be to work several low paying part time jobs to support your families. This will cause low quality family life and you think we may have a problem with children now wait till they only see their parents a few hours a month and hey are too exhausted to enjoy their family time. Wake up America' we are letting companies take over soon the companies will be the ones voting and we will just feed the machine as they see fit.

    Advice to Management

Get back to the values you say you have and give equal consideration to what employees need not how to make he most money by turning over your loyal full time employees to part time hour fillers. Ten years ago there was a %90 to %10 split full to part time employees now you want %20 to %80 split. You may save money by not paying benefits but you create a segment of society that can afford to shop where they work. Get back to giving raises that keep up with inflation. The system in place now only gives the top %15 of your employees a chance to get a %3 raise. Most employees get %1 to %2 percent. Hope you sleep well with your $250 million dollar golden parachutes and million dollar bonuses.
