I worked at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Success sharing. Can have fun at work. Can have good and enjoyable talks with customers. Plenty of opportunities to grow some. Can be pretty flexible with schedules.

    Cons

Schedules can be made a month and a half in advance which can be hard to work around if no one can cover your shift. Management can be very lazy. Often times you’re left alone on the floor if you are a sales associate. Work load can be dumped on you if they see that you actually work. They will move you around where they need you. Even if it isn’t your official job title.

    Advice to Management

Lead by example. Your employees will notice and be more motivated.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great knowledge learned from the position

    Cons

Way under paid, and management made promises, that they didn't intend to keep.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your associates, and make better time for them instead of pushing them to the side

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good fellow sales associates, close to home

    Cons

Low pay, low morale, terrible communication on all levels. Little chance for advancement unless you're in the clique. Keeps you locked in the store after you've punched out, for up to half an hour. You must wait for the manager on duty to show up and do a head count.

    Advice to Management

You preach customer service, then purposely short staff multiple departments. You preach how important your employees are, but tolerate ASM's who treat their employees with rudeness. You expect loyalty, but offer none to your sales floor associates. You know this situation exists, Mr. Menear, yet you do nothing to change it! Why is this, Sir?

I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You'll get in shape. There really isn't any other pros, so I guess I have to keep typing to get 20 words in.

    Cons

Lack of respect, unprofessional atmosphere, work does not equal pay, company claims to to care for their employees, but it's all propaganda.

    Advice to Management

Pay more for this position. It's despicable that we are worked this hard with very little pay. Maybe stop offering bogus "benefits" that only 1 in 100 people use and just start paying more for the amount of work done.

    Pros

Don't plan to stay too long or get too involved. They talk a great game, but it's all propaganda.

    Cons

Horrible middle management. They promote the lazy people and find fault with the good workers.

    Advice to Management

Promote those who go the extra mile instead of continually finding fault.
