I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As long as you work hard, you can take your Home Depot career as far as you want. Nearly every store manager I've met started with the company as a part time cashier. If you really want it, you can go from part time sales to store manager, making well over 100k, in less than ten years.

    Cons

Sometimes management will side with the customer just to keep them happy at the cost of making you look like a jerk. It's hard to follow company policy when customers just have to cry for a manager and they can get anything they want

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great place to meet people, flexible hours, room for advancement, pay is competitive with other large retail stores, many locations

    Cons

Average annual raise is .20 cents, promotions are based more on favoritism rather than performance, discipline is swift/recognition is lacking, nights and weekends off are not rotated, no employee discount

    Advice to Management

Implement changes that will show associates that they are valued and appreciated for their efforts

    Pros

the health benefits is great so that is the only reason why i can choose to work for home depot.and some employees are very friendly

    Cons

managers are unfair toward associates, they do favoritism on who to promote, who to get in trouble, who to get rid of...the way some managers interact with associates is just not human at all, they think people worth nothing.

    Advice to Management

managers have to learn ethical behaviors and try to be consistent with every employee regardless of their look,race,....
