I worked at The Home Depot full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Generates good life experience with employees, vendors, peers & customers. Learn a lot about sales culture, retailing, marketing and more.A variety of functions contribute to personal growth and development.

    Cons

Topdown, hierarchically driven sales culture. Not much respect for individualism. Directives often contradict policy and occasionally law. You are often told, directly and through inference, to overlook things. Largely unethical leadership driven exclusively by money. I had been told directly to violate a law which I would not do. They routinely compromise their core values and the culture disallows honest, upward feedback.

I have been working at The Home Depot for more than a year

    Pros

Very Stable company, job security, great people, creative ways to make the work place fun. and huge company with lots of departments so you can do almost anything.

    Cons

Lower level associate meaning not upper management (supervisor and below) are not paid comparably to other companies with the same jobs and skill sets. small amount of vacation and you have to work an entire year to get it! Health benefit s are not really affordable for the average employee.

I have been working at The Home Depot full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Home Depots culture is great, wonderful opportunities to grow based on performance not education. The opportunity to move as far up the ladder is available for any hard workers.

    Cons

One of the Cons is that while you can move up fast, the hourly wage for Department Supervisors and in store ASDS (HR) is not competitive .
