I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and bonus. The company truly strives to satisfy customer

    Cons

No work life balance. Upper management who makes rules don’t understand the pain felt in the field.

    Advice to Management

Make it way too hard to recruit service providers. Especially siding. Makes our jobs impossible.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Home Office in Atlanta is fully behind their people.

    Cons

District level middle management have little leadership skills. Our District Supervisor for Installations was a former salesman who had absolutely no idea what was needed for the installation side of the business.

    Advice to Management

Train your people, have them ride with and learn all the paperwork necessary to complete the day to day functions.

I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People I work with are the ONLY reason I come to work.

    Cons

This Company is too big to fully invest in their employees. Haven't received a full dollar raise and I have been here for 2 years almost. I help bring in millions of dollars (50 million a MONTH for the whole center). My department incurs so cost and expenses due to the wrong LEADERS not making the RIGHT decisions and therefore HD is unable to compensate us appropiately. Very reactive and not a proactive department I work in. Management is chosen off favoritism and many are resigning or getting terminated left and right because no one is being held accountable for their actions. HDE is not living the true values of the wheel HD created because this is not doing the right thing nor having respect for all people. Turnover will continue to increase and therefore affect productivity in a rotating cycle.

    Advice to Management

Hire managers who can adapt to the culture, inspire , motivate and simply know the business vs people you like cause they are physically attractive or popular.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

off on holidays. Dental and vision benefits are good. yearly bonus pay is good.

    Cons

Management has no empathy to whats going on in your personal life. They will work you till they cant work you anymore. Your just another associated ID number. Very unorganized. If your someone with kids they dont care. I wouldn't recommend because they do not follow there core values.

    Advice to Management

Be a little empathetic to your associates situations. To keep a good work adjustment will have to be made if you value that person.

I have been working at The Home Depot (More than a year)

    Pros

Always seem to have a job for most anyone. No discrimination as far as age, race, religion. Associates are treated fairly according to standards. Lots of friendly people to work around.

    Cons

no choice of hours, even with many years as a full time associate. Long term associates make decent wages...new ones coming in are offered down to $10hr for lots of physical work and even department supv positions.

    Advice to Management

take more time to actually be grateful for the associates in recognition, and not slack off doing so. It's about customer service, but truly about bottom line as with any business. More work and less people now to help customers.
