I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Lots of fun to work for. Very reasonable with associates. Lots of room to grow if you wish.

    Cons

How they eliminate position. With no warning! Some of management has there own ideas, and they don't follow the company play. This is not ever where only in certain areas.

    Advice to Management

All store managers are great to work with, some District managers are not. They have there own ideas and some treat associates like lower rate citizens

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great overall company... great pay and benefits

    Cons

Left the company due to a horrible supervisor... he led by intimidation. Company should realize he is a liability. However, he has been there for about 15 years. Makes one question the company's core values.

    Advice to Management

Need to actually live the core values...

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

On the job experience like no other, very diverse work place.

    Cons

HR and the Legal Dept have a strangle hold on the company. Big time politics abound.

    Advice to Management

Quit letting HR run the company, being politically correct about everything, and making your decisions based on who might sue you. Home Depot cannot hire or retain talent based on current reputation.
