I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The Home Depot has exciting benefits in area education reimbursement, health, vacation or leaves and stock purchase....

    Cons

Low pay rates (lack of academic encouragement) for example, a certain individual who currently works with the company was given tuition reimbursement throughout his graduation, but after graduation there has been no recognition, the company to pay a Master degree holder $11 per hour.

    Advice to Management

Pay employees according to his/her academic standard to encourage talented youth.

I worked at The Home Depot part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The culture of the company is great. They do all sorts of humanitarian work, the environment is a well spring of home improvement education, and there is free training to work in any department in the store. If I want to become a Tools guy I can.

    Cons

Standing on your feet all day. Can get quite boring. (not really many cons) The biggest con is that there's a pretty serious pay ceiling unless you're interested in upper management

    Advice to Management

work to the strengths of your company. Remember that employee satisfaction means customer satisfaction.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good culture, benefits for part time associates, good training, friendly people.

    Cons

I am a cashier and I have to work anywhere between 5:45 am to 10:30 pm. INSANE! Also, they tell you in training that you will probably have a full time position within 6 months...been working part time for over 12 months. Can't pay my bills and I work my butt off! HIRE MORE FULL TIME WORKERS!

    Advice to Management

    Hire more full time workers!

I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great diversity of associates within the store

    Cons

A lot of work for a one person shop which cannot be done during a 40 hour a week. It depends on what size store your are in. Mine is a Medium size store with 150 associates, a smaller store can complete all tasks on time. Pay also depends on experience, the starting pay is $16 hour

    Advice to Management

Make this position a salary position for mid to large stores, give more hours (45 hour a week) or an additional part time associate to assist.

    Pros

Home Depot is a great credential, for instance, most people who leave The Home Depot, find better jobs that are financially sufficient .

    Cons

They hire more part time than full time employees. The hours aren't so great, it's summer time, yet, our house are cut in half if not more.
