I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great benefits
    Room for growth
    Great environment
    Great peers
    Great money
The company listens to all associates ideas and try to make changes that are fair and appropriate
This is definitely a equal opportunity work place

    Cons

    Scheduling
Home Depot scheduling in certain departments are competitive , you never know what your schedule will be every three months in certain departments .
As long as you keep your score (great ranking on calls) and attendance good you will not have to worry about working late.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work , y'all are awesome

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

off on holidays. Dental and vision benefits are good. yearly bonus pay is good.

    Cons

Management has no empathy to whats going on in your personal life. They will work you till they cant work you anymore. Your just another associated ID number. Very unorganized. If your someone with kids they dont care. I wouldn't recommend because they do not follow there core values.

    Advice to Management

Be a little empathetic to your associates situations. To keep a good work adjustment will have to be made if you value that person.

I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are great people there. The management was great in the sense they were fun to be around. It is great experience to have on your resume.

    Cons

Underpaid, management allows customers to treat associates as something less than human, added responsibility with no promotion or pay bump.

    Advice to Management

Pay your associates more when given more responsibility.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Starting pay is at least $14.50 at the contact center. 401k benefit is good.

    Cons

The company will act as if they treat all employees well but it's untrue. They treat their corporate employees well at the corporate center but at the contact center, employees are often forgotten and given less than favorable treatment. Home Depot needs to do a better job with respecting their employees and with keeping management that does not treat their colleagues unfairly.

    Advice to Management

Spend less time giving employees the impression that they are just a number and a check. Do a better job with allowing employees (that are front line associates) to feel appreciated for their work and contributions to the company. Allow associates who are in lower positions to actually promote without having to play favoritism.

I worked at The Home Depot as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Security is tight and you don't have to worry about any type of threats. Onsite perks, cafeteria, gym, free coffee.

    Cons

Unorganized and absolutely no training. Multiple systems in which no one wants to train you on. They will take it over before allowing you to learn anything. Low key shadiness and will never address you directly. Concept sounds good but actuality is very inefficient . Would never recommend anyone work there unless you were an undercover racist and not want to be paid well.

    Advice to Management

Have some structure and concrete organization before having any expectations
