I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Company Morale, Paid Holidays, Vacation and PTO, great medical benefits, employee discount perks with other businesses, success sharing twice a year, there’s also great opportunities for growth and development. The managers are very open to feedback and will usually take it into consideration to make changes as needed. Home Depot takes very good care of their employees. Associates are empowered to assist their customers and make decisions without always needing permission from leadership First. They are always implementing new Ideas to make the work-Life balance easier. Family festivals, Christmas parties, prize give Aways, pot lucks, cookouts, and holiday contests are some of the many ways they ensure great company morale! I’ll definitely recommend the Home Depot, Especially the Kennesaw Contact Center!

    Cons

The starting pay for customer service reps could be higher considering the amount of work that’s required. Dealing with irate customers all day can be very stressful. However , the leadership team is always available to assist. Flex schedules during holidays. There really isn’t much about the cons of working at Home Depot. It’s an overall great company!

    Advice to Management

Continue to be the great servant leaders that you are ! I’ve enjoyed my time working at The Home Depot!

I have been working at The Home Depot (More than a year)

    Pros

It pays the bills. Kinda. I can honestly say I have the best management team I’ve ever had since I started at Home Depot.

    Cons

It’s not the company, it’s the division. At Home Services (HDE) doesn’t value its employees the same. They have high expectations but nothing to offer.

It’s also hard to move around the company due to limited exposure.

    Advice to Management

Live up to the company’s values.

    Pros

The benefits were good and I've heard the Christmas parties are a must.

    Cons

You name it. If you love being micro-managed, underpaid, and unappreciated, Home Depot Exteriors is the place for you.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits, ESPP, 401k plan, in house day care

    Cons

Management being deaf, dumb, blind and stupid about who really gets the work done. managers providing back stabbing references.

Uses old-fashioned rack and stack system for annual review and raises. Rewards management better than employees who actually do the work.

System allows mediocre employees a safe haven while hard working employees are overloaded.

Too much of a good old boy network, you have to know the right people, wear the right clothing and be a clone of others in the position.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of you inexperienced and ill prepared managers that just suck up to their bosses rather than finding out who really gets the work done. Your direct manager can stifle your career if they want to.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

off on holidays. Dental and vision benefits are good. yearly bonus pay is good.

    Cons

Management has no empathy to whats going on in your personal life. They will work you till they cant work you anymore. Your just another associated ID number. Very unorganized. If your someone with kids they dont care. I wouldn't recommend because they do not follow there core values.

    Advice to Management

Be a little empathetic to your associates situations. To keep a good work adjustment will have to be made if you value that person.

    Pros

    Great benefits
    Room for growth
    Great environment
    Great peers
    Great money
The company listens to all associates ideas and try to make changes that are fair and appropriate
This is definitely a equal opportunity work place

    Cons

    Scheduling
Home Depot scheduling in certain departments are competitive , you never know what your schedule will be every three months in certain departments .
As long as you keep your score (great ranking on calls) and attendance good you will not have to worry about working late.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work , y'all are awesome
