I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

One of my favorite pros is that everyone I’ve met is not only great at their role, but has a passion for it.
There is a lot of team spirit and it’s obvious most people here at Home Depot love the company.
The turnover rate is extremely low. Most people I’ve met had been in their roles 5+ years and were still happy. The ability to transition to a different area is encouraged as is learning new skills that benefit *any* part of Home Depot. Today I could manage paid search, but if I decided I wanted to be on the store operations team I just tell my manager and we work on a plan to get me there. I think the investment in individual employees sets the threshold for others, if not unmatched.

    Cons

The benefits are surprisingly not as generous for SSC employees as with other major corporations I’ve worked for, but I am happy that the benefits are standard across all employees, including store (part time is soon getting the same as everyone else). I’m happy to have slightly less generous policies if it means all employees can qualify!

    Advice to Management

Couch any managers who have a higher turnover than normal for the company. People leave managers, not companies and while my manager is excellent I have heard of some that are not.

    Pros

It’s a great company to work for because of the great people an awesome company. The benefits that are available are awesome.

    Cons

Some of the challenges of working here are the hours that have to be worked. If you want more hours they give you less if you want less hours they give you more

    Advice to Management

I don’t really have any advice for upper management

    Advice to Management

Help your employees by providing the tools for them to do their job. No one wants to come to work and have to lie to customers and have customers yelling and cursing at you as if your the person that is incompetent and taking their money and not installing their job.

    Pros

Pair programming so the spreading of knowledge is good
Culture is focused on not only helping the customers but other employees as well

    Cons

Not working at the main office so miss out on some perks like having a Starbucks in the office.

    Advice to Management

Managers need more focus and direction. Trying to take on too many initiatives at the same time.

    Pros

    Cons

getting help with moving internally, they don't have the best system. That takes me to the biggest con, the technology all the way around. Systems go down way more than they should.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Company Morale, Paid Holidays, Vacation and PTO, great medical benefits, employee discount perks with other businesses, success sharing twice a year, there’s also great opportunities for growth and development. The managers are very open to feedback and will usually take it into consideration to make changes as needed. Home Depot takes very good care of their employees. Associates are empowered to assist their customers and make decisions without always needing permission from leadership First. They are always implementing new Ideas to make the work-Life balance easier. Family festivals, Christmas parties, prize give Aways, pot lucks, cookouts, and holiday contests are some of the many ways they ensure great company morale! I’ll definitely recommend the Home Depot, Especially the Kennesaw Contact Center!

    Cons

The starting pay for customer service reps could be higher considering the amount of work that’s required. Dealing with irate customers all day can be very stressful. However , the leadership team is always available to assist. Flex schedules during holidays. There really isn’t much about the cons of working at Home Depot. It’s an overall great company!

    Advice to Management

Continue to be the great servant leaders that you are ! I’ve enjoyed my time working at The Home Depot!
