I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)
Some of the coworkers are the kindest people you’ll meet.
They cut hours like crazy, then they say they need more coverage and hire or transfer other people in, then hours are cut even more. Raised the starting pay from $10 to $11 which was awesome at first, until they got even stricter on scheduling shifts and breaks. Now people can get scheduled 4hrs for an entire week because of the new policy. There’s always training, tests, & papers to read & sign to make sure workers are doing their job right, but they just add stress & inaccurately imitate real life situations in the work place. Also, corporate and district managers are always coming through to make sure everything is good but it adds a lot of stress to associates and makes people work with others and the customers in a less patient manner.
Advice to Management
Stop hiring more people to cover hours when there are already a lot of workers that are already hired that need the hours.
