I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay, good benefits, good hours for the most part, friendly co-workers. clean and safe work environment.

    Cons

They get you all hyped up for promotion and then the let-down. False hope for advancement. Always seems to be "a friend of a friend etc..." that gets the job.

    Advice to Management

Give all Promotable associates a fair shot at the next level.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The co-workers are super friendly. I never thought I would like working with people to help with their project goals. You always have something to do at work, there's never a moment where you're just sitting there. They're very good with working with you if you have another job or are going back to school.

    Cons

Hours can sometimes be hard to come by if you're part time. The reason is they have to fill the full time hours first then give the part-timers the remainder. The schedule is made off of a computer so somedays you will be absolutely slammed with customers but won't have any assistance.

    Advice to Management

Give your associates some help by scheduling more than one person per shift. More work can be done that way and the stress levels are lower.
