    Pros

Fabulous! Pay and benefits were always top notch. They truly take care of you as family.

    Cons

Can have some long hours and days but everyone is dedicated and knows it isn't always like that.

I worked at The Home Depot part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Customers humble and looking for tips and how-to's

    Cons

Company looking for the almighty dollar, not looking "out for" their employees

    Advice to Management

Be good to your employees, they will be good to you.

I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

+the people who often give you advice
+some managers who are helpful to your concerns
+Great customers who know what they want

    Cons

_ direct supervisors acting like spies taking down everything you do wrong
-direct supervisors saying google it instead of actually helping
-big push for credit card sales always
-supervisors blabbing about employees under them disclosing personal details
    -no accountability for supervisors whatsoever
    -understaffed nigh tshift
-getting told I take no breaks so you should take no breaks
-not compliant with OSHA employee regs on breaks and lunches

    Advice to Management

Take some accountability and visit the stores on a weekly basis. Stop putting lazy people in DH positions that do nothing to help their employees under them. Have a new council in the stores for sales associates to talk with their dh's and the mods. A bi-weekly meeting should be put into place if your serious about keeping the company values of FIRST and keeping the aisles well managed.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Associates! Decent benefits. Management recognizes effort.

    Cons

Must attend meetings even if you are scheduled off - usually on Sunday at 6 am. Not great schedules and you are given your schedule a week and a half ahead of time. Impossible to plan anything. Usually understaffed. Spend a huge part of your day looking for things because no tracking for overhead items.

    Advice to Management

Stop with the Home Depot cheer at meetings. It doesn't produce camaraderie or pride. It feels like a child like environment. Thin out some of the middle management (corporate) and invest in making it less of a chaotic environment at the lower level.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time

    Pros

Everything is great till you have the same Store Manager. For some reason Home Depot love to move them around. Know 2 stores which were destroyed after doing that. Fun place to work, unless you have an amazing manager and assistants.

    Cons

No life outside Home Depot. Not a decent pay. No place to grow...... or there is but you should have somebody standing behind your back and super slow.

    Advice to Management

    Stop moving around store managers.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time

    Pros

You pick your own hours. Usually 4-6 hour shifts. Very flexible job.

    Cons

Talking to customers about cabinet refacing is your only job- so when the store is slow, there is nothing to do. Also, you are expected to work most weekends.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Part time benefits, friendly atmosphere, company deals with issues ,flexible schedule, competive pay, company meetings to keep us abreast of news, sucess sharing, you can earn Homer Bucks and eventually get items from a catalog

    Cons

Its like a warehouse. Its dirty, not enough job training, no commission, no bonuses for selling extra protection plans or getting credit cards, there are no employee discounts

    Advice to Management

Department supervisors do more to acknowledge employees who are preforming well on their job, asms come pitch in when its busy
