    I worked at The Home Depot full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

    You learn about the home remodeling trade You get to work outside in the sun if you work seasonal garden It's almost impossible to get fired once you've made your ninety days Flexible scheduling for PT employees. Reasonable accommodations for scheduling for FT associates

    Cons

    You aren't going to make any livable wage unless you go for assistant store manager The people who have been there for too long and can't leave because they for hired in when THD payed well.

    Advice to Management

    Keep on keeping on.

    Pros

    The employees you work with make the job a nice place to work. There is chance for advancement but your chances are based on how well you are liked by management not by performance. They flexible with your schedule around school and other activites.

    Cons

    Management lacks in knowledge of how to run a company. Raises and performance reviews are based on how much management likes you not by the work actually performed. Pay in not competitive to other companies for the same work. An employee will get written up for something as simple as not saying hello to one customer and not get recognition for work that is done well.

    Advice to Management

    Management needs to treat employees with more respect and not under pay them for the work performed. An employee will do ten things right and do one thing wrong and receive no recognition for the work completed correctly only get punished for the work down wrong.
