I have been working at The Home Depot full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Supportive co-workers that help you through the process of training, fair pay, opportunity to advance through leader based training led by the store manager every quarter

    Cons

More than twice a week I am the only one in my department, it can be difficult to find someone willing to cover your break

    Advice to Management

Amazing department supervisors, the upper management team doesn't seem to know how to keep busy and to stay off their phones.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

There is opportunity to move up if you express the desire to. Flexible hours. Vacation time for part-time workers. Provided that you're fine with talking to customers and comfortable in sales; can be a nice job. Good benefits IF you are full-time.

    Cons

Some departments depending on your store are run terribly. Staff can choose favorites. If you aren't vocal about only doing the job your hired for you will be used for lot attendant, carry-outs etc.(This mostly applies to cashiers)

    Advice to Management

Focus on treating all employees equally, training your staff well.

    Pros

Being able to be a positive influence as a supervisor and motivate my employees to do their best by being a good role model.

    Cons

Not being able to get the support that I need to do my best my supervisorial position. I also do not like having unsatisfied customers, especially if it is out of my control to help them.

    Advice to Management

Be open to suggestions more often and ask for suggestions when we are making changing so that issues can be discussed prior to implementing change.

I worked at The Home Depot part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible scheduling and easy work. Dependable hours and good leadership across majority of store managers and assistant managers. Closes at 9 during winter is a plus.

    Cons

Silly push of credit cards - strategy ignored existing market penetration or clienteles ability to qualify for credit. Extremely high turnover rate despite being flexible part-time work.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to detail when handling associates.
