I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay is not bad compared to other local employers

    Cons

Staffing can be inadequate for the number of customers to help. It is hard to give a customer all the assistance possible whenever you have several departments to cover. If you care about doing a good job, this can be stressful.

    Advice to Management

Consider the customer service levels when forecasting hours.

  3. "Great company overall, but experience can vary by location"

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Large teamwork aspect from new hires all the way to some levels of upper management. Gives to disabled veterans and active military, as well as those effected by natural disasters or other forms of misfortune.

    Cons

Depending on your department and location, there can be a constant fight for schedule hours. Cashiers/Customer Service positions also have a huge emphasis on opening credit accounts which can be a con depending on the person.

    Advice to Management

Basically keep everything the same. Perhaps try to emphasis more consistency in management with varying locations.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Optional hour long lunches, 2 weeks paid vacation.

    Cons

Safety knives, online training, asked to take on additional responsibilities for no extra pay (ex Forklift), full time schedule is just as random as part time, do not know what days you will have off.

    Advice to Management

Slight pay increase for forklift drivers

    Be more like Wegmans.
