I worked at The Home Depot part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Doing seasonal work for The Home Depot was rewarding, challenging, and it offered a good way to gain some work experience.

    Cons

The only con that comes to mind with taking a seasonal job for The Home Depot is that it is just that, seasonal.

    Advice to Management

The advice that I would offer the management of The Home Depot would be to take more consideration in offering full time work to seasonal employees.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Started as a cashier then moved to the receiving department. The customers were nice for the most part. At least it's not Wal-mart.

    Cons

I was hired part time and worked full time hours every single week just so that they wouldn't have to give me benefits. I was trained on forklift and other equipment but never officially certified and was still expected to operate the machines with no extra pay. Management is lazy. Hours are all over the place so it feels like you live there & the pay was not good.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is good and the benefits are very good. You get discounts on tons of every day things like cell phone bills!

    Cons

Getting full-time status is really difficult. Additionally, they time EVERYTHING. Seems a bit neurotic to me, or even OCD-ish. But the biggest problem I have is the turn-out; people tend to leave by the bus load. If you can keep moving, this is great job, be it on the floor or in receiving.
