I have been working at The Home Depot full-time

    Pros

Home depot is great at putting some of your concerns ahead of their needs. They will work with you and make sure to coordinate with you if you are unhappy with something. Associates treat each other with respect and are always asking how you are doing. Customer service is number one priority and that is truth

    Cons

They schedule you very early and it is difficult to swap shifts with an associate. you REALLY need to plan if something comes up such as vacation or a dentist appt.

I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Vacation time and personal time. Tuition reimbursement. Opportunity for growth.

    Cons

Poor cut through management. Horrible schedule. The company went to set schedules for FT employees back in 2015 and it ruined the joy of working there. I was stuck with a closing shift. Ended up leaving when I finally realized no one cared how unhappy I was. Pay was also mediocre.

    Advice to Management

Do away with set schedules. A set rotation is way more enjoyable.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

p/t workers don't get medical in NY but dental , vision is offered at $15-20 wk (2018) dental is either 50%/50% or 80%/ 20% -- glasses cover a good portion of cost unless you want the highest price frames - for individual of family

    Cons

plan to work hard and a lot of walking - cut back hrs during slow times which is the hardest many people leave due to low hrs
