    Pros

    - Flexible Schedule
    - Potluck Safety parties
    - Paid Sick time

    Cons

    - Terrible Compensation for a billion dollar company; America's #1 retailer
    - Extreme gossip & rumor spreading
    - Bribes employees with useless gifts/parties/unhealthy food
    - Rundown break room
    - Bathroom was horrendous; customers would complain constantly
    - Managers didn't care about any of the employees or maintenance of store; very
      impersonal
    - Company Values and Culture are not implemented like they are supposed to be

    Advice to Management

    - At least fake like you care even if you don't
    - Hard work isn't recognized
    - Employees on the ground level literally on their hands and knees working hard
everyday while management picks up all the credit.
    - Management never speaks up on behalf of associates
    - Management has no backbone

I worked at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most of the people there are awesome and care a lot about coworkers and customers. There are okay benefits even for part timers. You can easily move around in the company.

    Cons

The management is a mess. The pay is what you would expect for retail. You can give this place everything you have and you will get overlooked. People will get promotions around you who do half the work you do. Don’t give it your 100% because if you do you won’t get noticed, they’ll always just expect it.

    Advice to Management

If you have an employee who wants to move up in the company and give this place 120% effort, when they ask why they weren’t put in the classes to move up, don’t tear them down. Don’t tell them they aren’t good enough despite the 120% they already give, all the extra tasks they take on that they don’t have to. Don’t rip them apart saying that they don’t delegate well when they just want to do some of the work themselves. This happened to me and it killed all passion I had for this company. I left a couple months after because I hated the place ever since.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have nothing bad to say about this company. I spent two years as a lot attendant and even though there were times when I wanted to run my car off a bridge, the company itself was very good to me. A lot of freedom. I would recommend this company to anyone that values freedom like I do. There is a very laid back vibe here. I worked at multiple locations and they were all pretty much the same

    Cons

Don't expect to be a millionaire working here...you won't be. And if you happen to be working one day and you see someone you know, if you are ashamed Of the fact that you are working at a retail chain making less to nothing...just hide!!! Tons of great hiding spots in the orange box

    Advice to Management

The store managers will leave you alone for THe most part the assistant managers are always hit or miss
