I have been working at The Home Depot part-time for more than a year

    Pros

They have great benefits, even for part-time associates. The minimum they start you out is $10.00, they train you well on a computer and then you shadow someone for a while until you get to know enough. You get to learn a lot about home improvement by working there.

    Cons

It can be stressful depending where you are, at first I was at a high-volume store and the people that shopped there had no patience and there was a lot of them. You can tell the manager hated the people like that too but the customer was always right so he wouldn't stand up for his employees. however, when I transferred to a smaller store, it was much better. It really depends on the manager and what kind of people shop at the store you're applying for.

    Advice to Management

Management, please get to know all your employees and listen to their complaints and recommendations as well as you listen to the customers complaints and recommendations.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Excellent co-workers, store works as a team effort, good spirit of support for others, respect for employees, no boredom, always work to be done, loyal employees

    Cons

low pay for amount of work, hours all over the place (extremely different every week), tough going as PT employee, must be available at any shift, poor life/work balance

    Advice to Management

raise associate pay to fair scale for amount of work done, admit that profits are due to employees hard work and loyalty to the brand

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Home Depot Is a extremely good place to work.

    Cons

There are so many Workers within the stores, it seems as though the hard workers get looked over when it come to wanting full time or more hours of work time. Other than that i still think that working here is great.

    Advice to Management

Management does everything possible to make their store a great experience for the consumer, so at this time i have no advice for management.
