    Pros

    Flexible hours, Career Growth

    Cons

    Non set hours, low pay.

    Advice to Management

Increase your pay base by $4. That will get employees in and to stay.

I worked at The Home Depot (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good job during college. Paint dept. is by far the best

    Cons

Terrible hours/scheduling. Management doesn't really care when you may have a test or something equivalent

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They have great benefits, some decent perks like a percentage off your phone bill and vacation time that carries over if you don't use it. Fun place to be if you like tools and working on household projects. Ability to walk around to learn about other departments and not be stuck behind a desk.

    Cons

Compensation is low for most positions until you reach management and annual increases are minimal. No ability to be creative because most of the decisions are made from the corporate leaders. Not a good place to work if you are driven because most of your fellow employees are not. Weekend work is mandatory for most positions.

    Advice to Management

More detailed performance reviews that go outside of the box and don't follow the standard format. Reward better employees with more compensation. Recruit individuals with outstanding customer service skills since that's the biggest downfall of most employees.

    Pros

They will hire older people for various positions. I does offer a chance for high school graduates to get a job with some benifits.

    Cons

Schedual now shows you work period two weeks out. You are expected to be availible to work from anywhere from 5 am - 11 pm, 7days a week! You can also expect as a full time employee to work 8 days in a row. Some work shifts may be for a little as 4 hours and that could be suring the above stated hours. Your expected to take a one hour lunch.

    Advice to Management

Try following the corperate training vidios, or atleast let the new employees know which rules you follow and which ones you turn a blind eye to. How about training on the companys standard operating procedures.

    Pros

Not bad for a part-time job.

    Cons

Store hours is from 6am to 10pm, so it means you either have to wake up early for the morning shift or go home late when closing the store.
