I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I feel well taken care of there. There are lots of opportunities to learn and there are great people working there. There is a great corporate culture although the execution of customer service could use improvement.

    Cons

Wages are at a lower level and staffing levels are often low as well.

    Advice to Management

Keep taking care of associates well and clean up store ONLINE CASHIER BOOK data.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Home Depot is a solid retail opportunity. Special Service can get to be intense. I feel the position is greatly under paid for the amount of work required.

    Cons

    Retail Hours & Low Pay

    Advice to Management

Often the lines of job responsibility vs pay are out of line. Stores are quick to pile on work without an increase in income.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Like the co-workers and customers. Quality of product sold are very good. Current culture is of respect and trust. Pleasant place to work. The systems are improving making the processes easier. I believe if an employee is committed to going beyond the call of duty they may be promoted or get a raise . It is possible.

    Cons

The hours are inconvenient and the Pay is BAD. One may count on a less than Cost of Living (Inflation) increase per year. IE 2.7%. This is about 25 cents a year on $9.50. As a retiree from Corporate America management, I am ASTOUNDED at the low pay for the Special Service Associates. They work HARD! Pretty amazing. Now that the market is improving, management may have to crank up the pay to keep these hard workers!

Ever think about a base and commission?
