    Approves of CEO

I have been working at The Home Depot

    Pros

    - Hundreds of thousands of employees, but maintains an entrepreneurial feel - Recognition for achievements - Good understanding of work/life balance

    Cons

    - HR documents and policies extremely difficult to find sometimes - Often red tape and bureaucracy when dealing with headquarters

    Advice to Management

    - Consider the employee experience all the way down to finding information about work anniversary date, HR policies, etc. (this stuff should be very accessible and easy to find)

"(Headquarters Employee) It's a fine company to work for if your goal is to be a manager, but not great for creatives."

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at The Home Depot full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Okay health benefits. On site gym and cafeteria.

    Cons

The only way to make more money as a creative is to move up to management. I love what I do. Why would I want to be a manager and not a designer? Also, no flexibility for part time work. I'm stuck in full-time whether my circumstances change or not.

    Advice to Management

Try to understand the complexity of the work involved for a creative position. It's not just 'playing with Photoshop'. It's not magic. There's an actual strategic thought process behind the work and serious skills that require years of study and development.
