I worked at The Home Depot full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Depending on quality of management, it is a fun and family friendly place to work! The benefits are not bad. Interacting with the public is enjoyable mostly.

    Cons

The pay is not good. The work load can be overwhelming if fellow employees don't sow up. They push you to craziness almost to get what they want. The amount of work given in any given day is crazy with customers coming in regularly.

    Advice to Management

Push corporate to pay better. Listen to employees when there is a problem with fellow employees. Have a greater number of employees on hand to call in when its busy.

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There is room for advancement frequently, the associates are friendly and easy to get along with. If you work on the Merchandising Execution Team, you get weekends off.

    Cons

Compensation is the big one. Pay good people what they are worth, which in most cases means more than 10. Especially when you call them in on their day off to cover a shift. The management is very frugal on the money it spends on employees and recognition. They want so much for so little. But

    Advice to Management

Invest more into the wages of associates and it will attract more qualified and dependable candidates.
