I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

love my coworkers, very flexible schedules.- probably the best in retail. Alot of room for personal growth and improving your social skills. Managers know their stuff and actually help if you need it. The benefits are pretty darn good.

    Cons

Promotions are almost impossible. Its also almost impossible to be full-time unless you were a department head. Pay is not competitive.

    Advice to Management

Improve base pay for all positions, its terrible compared to what it was 15 years ago.

    Pros

You have to get really friendly with your supervisor because if not its going to be hard to get hours. The benefits are great, 22% off your phone bill and other utilites, and many other with working with homer. They also help you if youre having financial difficulties.

    Cons

depends where you go, management can be amazing or simply terrible.

I worked at The Home Depot (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Willing to hire people as long as it's the lowest wage that can be paid. If this is your job it is better than no job. But just barely.

    Cons

Very little training. No support from management. No encouragement for product knowledge. No associate appears to want to be there. A general feeling of 'get what you came for and get out" feeling about the stores.

    Advice to Management

Bring back the Home Depot of the 1990's. A much better place to work and shop.
