I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for. Lots of amenities at the corporate office, and a program to assist associates in financial need due to unexpected illness, disaster or family death. Very big on giving back to the community. There are opportunities for advancement of you position yourself in the right area (one that is known for making positions when needed or one that turns over frequently - the latter is harder to find).

    Cons

VERY LONG HOURS. Working at night, from home. Transportation goes into 24/7 mode during large natural disasters. System support positions are always 24/7.

    Advice to Management

Check with associates often to see if they're overworked. Often times they won't tell you for fear of repercussion or being viewed as someone who can't handle the position. Try to balance the work load when possible.
