I worked at The Icee Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Steady year round work. Good teamwork, comfy hotels. Work out of home, great technical training, freedom from an over your shoulder boss.

    Cons

Lots of overnights, away from family 60%, smaller than expected salary, benefit plans are too complicated

I have been working at The Icee Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Dont mind paying overtime ,flexible if you have an appt

    Cons

you will have to work on call for 24hrs 7days a week once every other month, camreas in vans invasion of your privacy, they will use you like a work horse if you let them,no room for advancement, dispatch needs to learn how to route calls better

    Advice to Management

change the on call to once a week and alternate service techs each day, that way people with familes dont have to worry about being called out at 3am for a call that reallly is not a P1

I have been working at The Icee Company (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They hire right out of tech school. You learn how to fix lots of commercial kitchen equipment. Company tech support. Equipment training.

    Cons

You will get trained on equipment and never touch it or won't get a call on it in 2 years then are expected to remember everything you learned. Drive camera. You can't use Bluetooth while driving, drinking and smoking while driving is not allowed. Lack of communication. Lack of willingness to fix equipment from some service techs. Low yearly raise.

    Advice to Management

Train your new techs more so that they know what they are doing before you throw them out into the field. Most are out of school and have zero field service experience and are put into a service van within a couple weeks. Pay your good techs.

I have been working at The Icee Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent Job security, Plenty of room for growth for motivated individuals. I started as a Route Delivery Driver, and am currently a Field Operations Manager. Most of the Upper Management came up the ranks as well. The company pays competitive wages to employees who are worth keeping. The Co. provides vehicles, tools, uniforms (including nice jackets, hats etc), training, and other co. expenses. Good benefits, including 401K and stock options. The company has on line training for employees that are motivated enough to take advantage of it. They provide field technical support as well if employees are working on unfamiliar equipment.

    Cons

I would like to see more incentive programs for route drivers and service technicians that go out of there way to drive safely, fix machines right w/o excessive call backs, and be productive. It seems like the best employees are equally compensated as the not so good employees.

    Advice to Management

    More incentive based programs
