I have been working at The Jacobson Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management consistently works at improving company culture and provides benefits like flexible hours, work at home options and events. They work very hard to retain their employees and provide an overall positive environment. It's a matrixed organization.

    Cons

The only con may be the retirement benefits, though their are regulatory constraints based on the company's business model that make retirement benefits complicated.

    Advice to Management

Management is very proactive and positive. Any employee can approach the CEOs or senior management with any problem or suggestion. Keep doing what you're doing.

I have been working at The Jacobson Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The Jacobson Group is a great company with owners and managers who truly care about their employees. When a career path was not clear for me, one was created. They are flexible and provide lots of little rewards and signs of appreciation (catered lunches, gift cards, etc).

    Cons

Some managers seem to be better than others for various reasons, but that's inevitable.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to embrace flexibility.

I have been working at The Jacobson Group full-time

    Pros

The company is small, and able to give younger folks awesome opportunities. They try hard to recognize your efforts, and will train you up at the beginning with a ton of information. In addition, they will place you in front of C-Suite executives at clients without hesitation.

    Cons

At times it's hard to transition within the company, as there are not a ton of roles that can be created.

    Advice to Management

Clearly define growth path as employees move through their time here, that way there is a reasonable expectation on both sides to retain talent.

    Pros

Company serves a challenging niche, and often is asked to help with problems which are unconventional.

When on a gig, their on-the-road services are generally excellent..

The people are smart and know how to follow up.

    Cons

It's like agents in show biz: they don't work for the talent they represent. They work for the client companies which pay them. So if you're on a gig, fine. If you're not, outta sight, outta mind.

The financial arrangements between The Client Company, Jacobson, and me were pretty murky. We were prohibited by the company from discussion of the financial arrangements between Jacobson and the client, but I have a suspicion that my gig didn't continue longer because the client figured out I was getting paid only a fraction of what he thought he was paying me.

    Pros

The Jacobson Group is a very collaborate company that works hard to be sure to represent the company values daily, not just represent them on the website.

    Cons

Employee training could be a bit more standardized.
