I worked at The John Stewart Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great benefits and training offered

    Cons

Does not pay enough for everything that comes with this job. It is pretty much a 24 hour job since you have to take urgent calls anytime after work and weekends. Owners do not realize WE are taking care of THEIR property and risking our lives everyday in the low income housing community. I worked very very hard to make it successful and a community involvement orientated. Management company is very cheap and not willing to pay for ALL that is involved.

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge and compensate for EVERYTHING we take on a daily basis and our heart and commitment for the people as well as the management. Management knows the many hats we were as Property Managers and should pay and bonus accordingly.

I have been working at The John Stewart Company full-time

    Pros

Pro employee, Pro customer, for profit pockets with a non-profit mindset, customer-first, caring, thinking of the next level and doing what it takes to get there technology-wise

    Cons

Some departments are understaffed which means overworked or they are not always able to provide top notch service in a timely manner

    Advice to Management

Get a good succession plan together; we are going to need it soon

I have been working at The John Stewart Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent Benefits, reputation as one of the largest Affordable Housing company in the US.

    Cons

Messed up upper management politics, they have their own groups and only let their own people advance even though it has been proven that they are not qualified. They give them generous salaries, protect them from their dishonorable mistakes and give the most competent non-member of their groups lower salaries.

    Advice to Management

Take care of all your employees, not just your favorites. Your favorites do not work, the most competent do. At least recognize and thank them for their work.

I worked at The John Stewart Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great company culture, CEO.

    Standard compensation, benefits, etc.

Had a phenomenal supervisor/regional, but has since retired.

    Loved this company!

    Cons

Fee management can lead to unstable job security. No matter how great of a job YOU do, the owners can decide to switch management companies at any time.
