    Pros

Good learning opportunity if you are new to the workforce, good pay compared to similar companies, learned good sales strategies

    Cons

Has been producing poorer quality products and long-time customers begin to notice, sales quotas are unrealistic and the system divides and causes tension between employees.

    Advice to Management

There has to be a more efficient system for employees to meet quotas that will not result in "taking" sales from others

    Pros

The benefits package was pretty good. Standard PTO, and generous paid company holidays. Good people thought organization. Of course some departments are better than others.

    Cons

Very little room for growth and advancement. Most people are in one positions for MANY years. There is a lot of favoritism, so some people are promoted becomes they are liked. Lots of hard knowledgeable workers are looked over is you are not on the A list.

    Advice to Management

Recognize people for their potential and what they bring to the table. You should it hinder someone's growth for your own personal gain to satisfy the needs of your department.... You should see the bigger picture!

    Advice to Management

needs to promote from within more often , more interaction with senior management more often,
encourage more junior staffing in a more positive way of mentoring to retain junior staffers

I worked at The Jones Group (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Jones has been fractured into several smaller companies. The Nine West Group and One Jeanswear Group are still excellent companies with strong brands and passionate staff.

    Cons

The company was so big it couldn't get out of its own way. We lost focus and that resulted in losing customers, which resulted in fracturing the company. Now that the dust has settled, these smaller companies are doing very well!

    Advice to Management

The managers always treated their people well. It's not their fault the company shrunk. All I can say it, management should recognize that they under-pay their employees relative to the rest of the fashion industry. We expect to be over-worked, but the high turnover is because people don't feel they are being properly compensated in a career that really requires 24/7 attention.

I worked at The Jones Group (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some of the most amazing people anyone could ever ask to spend so much of their time with.
    Great work environment.
    More than ample time off.

    Cons

Company was sold... The beginning of the end.
After being blind-sided by the news of brands being discontinued, and then customer service being moved to the New York office, forget about trying to plan your future... and your severance, if you didn't remain their hostage until they decided you were free to go on with your life outside of Jones.

    Advice to Management

Most of the employees can't even afford the products the company sells, so think about what they're going through while being kept in the dark about their future employment status. Have some consideration for your employees' livelihoods.
