Pros
During the pandemic, there were not a lot of places where I could get my feet wet teaching at an in-person setting. Of course, childcare centers were an exception, so I ended up here. Curriculum provided in books monthly, but I did have to write lesson plans, as well.
Cons
Always was pushed to the most children I could legally watch. Hours are very long, not enough prep time often because “prep time” is also the children’s nap time, and not all children nap. We also were responsible for taking photos and uploading them during the day to an app for parents - several photos or entries a day for meals, activities, bathrooming, etc. which was very time consuming (especially when it was a poorly designed app), which took away from instruction time. Not only that, we also had to input observations about their learning. No benefits were offered or provided (health insurance etc) - the only thing I ever heard was 10% off of your child’s tuition. Very high turnover rate for teachers.

Chaotic work environment
Jun 15, 2021 - Lead Teacher in The Woodlands, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Love the kids and coworkers and my bosses. They work with you on your schedule, always bringing in treats and food for employees, fair pay
Cons
So many kids and not so many teachers so it's wild. No benefits like insurance. Not very long training

Pros
Nice-hard working teachers that care about every child
Cons
This company was a complete mess to work for. Everything was on organized from training which I received none to benefits and daily organization of the company. The chain of command is confusing and they leave their employees with no resources to reach out to for human resources or benefits. Working for this company continued to haunt me after I left.

Pros
The company provides a bright, child friendly building that is the same in every location. The children enjoy the mascots that the corporation have created.
Cons
-Low wages (not a living wage). Staff goes years without raises. -Requires uniform but only provides two when you start and never replaces even if you have been there for years. They expect you to buy more when they start to wear out. -Provides staff with curriculum (company wide) that contains incorrect information. Also curriculum tends to be culturally bias. -very high turn over both in classrooms and management. -maximizing profit trumps the happiness of staff and children. -poor medical benefits if you do not live in Florida near corporate head quarters. -the center management so bogged down with paperwork that they have little time to provide guidance to the building where they work.

Chaotic, but okay if you’re pursuing a teaching career
Jun 19, 2021 - Teacher in Warren, NJRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Working with the kids is great, usually. They will always have hours for you as they are typically understaffed. You will learn time management and a bit about how a normal school routine works. If you’re looking for a lead role, you’ll learn to manage time, manage behaviors, and plan engaging lessons.
Cons
This place is 98% money driven. It is a business not a school. It is almost impossible to put vacation time in as they will always need you around. Depending on the center, they will not pay any vacation or sick time you've accrued if you quit before using it. They will low ball your salary and make you feel like they’re giving you a great deal, so tell them you’re currently getting paid more than what you need. The health benefits are expensive and there will still be a copay. There is no space for teachers to express how they are doing, and rarely is there any guidance. They expect you to lesson plan the following week of lessons while the kids are around. They will put you at the max legal capacity. Although training is required, they would much prefer you complete it on your own time and throw you in a room to figure it out. You are essentially a body in the room to meet the legal ratio. Zero professional development. Unempathic about personal life. Did not pay me for overtime or trainings I completed from home unless I “reminded” them. No reimbursement for things you need in your room for activities, and lots of broken toys that probably won’t be replaced. Also one front desk person in particular talks down to younger staff OFTEN and publicly, with no shame. Overall hostile environment and no one who works there wants to be there. Several teachers (around 6) have quit or made an attempt to quit. If it were legal to hire the children themselves, they would do so to make more money.

Pros
All the children are a great group and community. The teachers and parents are amazing too, The best thing about working at TLE are the wonderful children who love to learn, who love you and connect with you as a teacher, and how you teach matters to them and helps them learn a lot. The teachers are a good group too who work together well and help the children learn and grow into good human beings and students.
Cons
The management has some communication problems. The owner isn't there often and isn't considerate about the staff and the changes the staff wants. The owner doesn't offer many benefits and options to grow even to the staff that's been working there for a long time.
